A sunhat

We’ve been having a bit of a heatwave here in Scotland and the wee hobbit has need of sun protection. She has one sunhat but it’s on the small side (despite being a size up) and probably won’t last the whole summer. I had one ball of Patons 100% cotton DK leftover from a top I made last summer so have used that to crochet a sunhat. The pattern’s one that I’d used before for my niece and is pretty simple but not completely plain. I made the smallest size but probably should have tried for a tighter gauge as this hat is a little too big. It’ll probably stay on alright once I add some elastic to it (note to self get the elastic from her room while she’s awake) and given that today is grey and cloudy again maybe she’ll have grown into it before summer returns again.
